INCENTIVE:

Even before stepping into the tentative position of clan leader, Raphael exhibited a strong sense of duty toward his clan as Camille's second-in-command. While Raphael is seen begrudgingly assisting the Shadowhunters from time to time, his actions are always driven by his own perception of what will benefit or otherwise endanger the safety of his fellow vampires, and he does not hesitate to overthrow Camille when her actions threaten to stain the integrity of the clan and sever the ties of peace between the Nephilim and the Night Children. With the threat of Valentine's war and the knowledge that Camille is roaming free in the city hanging over him, Raphael will be guaranteed the safety of all the vampires in the New York clan by the representative. There's no question that Raphael would accept this offer, knowing an opportunity when he sees one. As the new administration, he could use all the help he can get.

And despite their rather messy "break-up," Raphael's incentive of safety will extend to Simon as well, as he is technically still one of the New York vampires.

FIT:

Rapahel is not typically described as cute and cuddly, but rather cold, prickly, and never short on insults. His experience with intimate relationships is limited, mostly due to the fact that he's been busy climbing political ladders for most of his afterlife. At first glance, the idea of Eudio would not be a particularly interesting one for him, but being the enterprising vampire he is, Raphael would not turn down the chance for an advantage over his enemies. While Raphael may not be willing to admit it to most—or even to himself at first—he will also be taking his stay in Eudio as a chance to better understand his own sexuality and his relationship with the romantic, both parts of his personality that have had little opportunity for exploration or growth. If he's going to live forever, it might not be so terrible to spend some of that time with someone important to him (keyword: might). He'll probably warm up to the idea eventually. That, or he'll be grouchily holding a lot of hands.

CONSENT:

Raphael's rebirth as a vampire was the result of a non-consensual act, and he makes it abundantly clear that he resents Louis Karnstein for biting and Turning him against his will, going so far as to kill his attacker. Raphael's life was permanently altered without his consent, and as part of a clan, he is surrounded by others who have been similarly affected. He is against Turning mundanes, and is seen stopping and berating other vampries for threatening mundanes at a very early stage in his rebirth. Of course, Rapahel's disapproval of Camille's unlawful Turning is connected to the clan's safety, but it is made clear that he understands the consequences of these actions and sympathizes with those who are affected by such actions, especially when he reaches out to assist Simon, whom he formerly disliked, when he is reborn as a vampire after being murdered by Camille. It is generally understood that Raphael has not sired any vampires himself, another indication that he takes the issue of choice very seriously.

One of Raphael's abilities as one of the Night Children is encanto, a type of hypnosis that can be used on mundanes to make them forget. Raphael uses this ability on one occasion to wipe the memories of mundanes who were attacked by other vampires. While Raphael would most likely refrain from using this ability unless he thought it beneficial for both the mundanes and the creatures of the Shadow World involved, this ability may be limited or blocked completely during his stay in Eudio. He would have little reason to argue with these terms, and he's typically a stickler for the rules anyway.

As a vampire, Raphael has superhuman strength as well as superhuman speed, but he will be appropriately limited in how much power he can exert. Raphael is considered immortal, but he can be injured and/or killed by sunlight or a good old-fashioned stake. As before mentioned, Raphael's encanto ability will be limited as per the representative's discretion.

He will make it abundantly clear that he'll need a steady supply of blood upon arriving. He's grumpy enough on a full stomach.
