[ One reason Magnus doesn't relent with the fondness and the repetitious utterances of affection - be they teasing words or the so-called stupid endearments. Because it works. They may be an odd pair of friends, but surely anyone who watches them interact for a moment or two could tell they have a lot of affection for each other.

[ Yes, it's overtly affectionate and emotional and who knows what else, but it's important to say it. It may be sudden, yes, but there's a part of him that just doesn't want to let another day pass. Every day in this universe or any other is important. Here, perhaps because Eudio does afford certain freedom.

There's no one barring the way here. But it's not the home they've known for years and years. That home presents a host of obstacles. Maybe having this here and now is important armor for what's to come.

Practically speaking, when they go home, their worlds are most likely going to collide in all sorts of ways. The army that's on the rise will see to that.
